PlayStation 2.0 And TV

          PlayStation 2.0 came out last week with more hype and updates about the future upgrade to the PS4's. They also released PlayStation TV which was quite confusing for me so I dove into this to understand it's role.
    
          PlayStation 2.0 to start things off here is going to be an update hopefully in the near future that will be adding BIG changes to the PlayStation 4's set up. They will be adding some pretty big things such as SharePlay which in a short summary will allow another player to join into your game wirelessly. I could see this as a potential new hacker spot to try and just hack into people's game and take control without needing authorization, but only time will tell. They also will be putting theme's back onto the PS4 like there was on the PS3 too. They are also trying to make it more YouTube and Twitch friendly. The last thing that PlayStation said they will be adding was the ability to play music while you play if you plug in your music through a USB jack. Again some problems I see are if you are charging your controllers and don't have an available USB jack. One issue that I always thought of was the music unlimited app that is on the PS4, why not just let that play in the background while you play games? Seems like just an extra step that PlayStation may have looked over. Overall though I'm very stoked for this update to my PS4 and look forward to seeing all the other features as well.

Now the PlayStation TV came out and I was very confused to begin with was did it stream TV, or what were the actual features of the PlayStation TV box? I called PlayStation directly and spoke to one of the PlayStation Specialists there. I was there informed that it is basically like the marketplace on the PS3; except you are paying $100 for it. This seemed to be a little bit of a turn off to give me access to the games I bought for the PS3 I then need to buy this box that only has 1GB of storage (about 1 maybe 2 games) in order to access games I originally bought? I was definitely not going to be an innovator or early adopter of this product. After looking at some other reviews it seemed to be very dis-satisfactory and needs help. There was a positive review as well so you can get both sides of the argument. Personally, I'll probably just continue to wait, the PS4 is not even a year old and still has a lot of improvements to add on to it. Judging by the life cycle of past consoles, the PS4 has about 6-7 years left until a new "next-gen" console comes out.

Destiny: Is it to Blame on the Players?

          

         Many people are aware of the video game Destiny. It's also undergone a huge critique and this is what I believe caused Destiny to be ridiculed quite harsh.
 

          I personally loved the game when it first came out. I logged countless hours in the upwards of about 50-60 hours into the game doing the story, PVP and strikes. However, for what Bungie built up Destiny to be, they really fell short on their promises and the expectations they instilled in their audience. Bungie has undergone a lot of criticism as well with the rumors of them banning people who found the glitch into the area of Venus called "The Terminus". A YouTuber showed everyone how to methodically make it into the glitched area shown here. Not only are these rumors been going around and they have not yet been addressed by Bungie yet, but they also are undergoing scrutiny over having DLC on the discs already. This is also linked with "The Terminus" video above and is supposed to be a 2015 DLC content. Bungie has yet to comment as to why the content is already on the disc. 

         Now I find the content and levels already on the disc to be fine. It basically means that you won't have to download a 2GB dlc content because the majority of the content is already on the disc. at that point you are only downloading the enemies and a few other minute details for the DLC, but for the major parts of the level they can include on the disc. This though is just speculation as Bungie hasn't commented on this yet as well. 

        To finish off this topic here I feel what plagued Destiny the worst was that it was the best game to come out on the next-gen consoles. I enjoyed that and played it more than Madden 15, or Diablo 3 or even Battlefield 4. Even the Destiny crew admitted that more hours were played and logged on Destiny than they anticipated and shattered their goals and objectives. Having this made people expect such a great game which Bungie failed to accomplish, paired with their poor PR management on sensitive issues and creating a game that many people played the hell out of. No matter if it's your favorite song, favorite game, or favorite movie; too much of one thing is bad, and that's what I believe ultimately plagued the Destiny franchise. Let's just hope their DLC in December has a ton of content to bring back it's players.
